Fred Hill - Co-owner / Manager, Operations

Over fifteen years computer industry experience, five with Atomic Energy of Canada, and ten years as co-owner/operator of Alliance Computer Systems. Worked in several installations of Novell Netware, Windows, and Windows NT local area networks and completed large portion of CNE courses. Responsible for coordination of equipment and software procurement, delivery, and installation. Fred has been an active member and supporter of many community groups, including Junior Achievement, the Board of Trade, the Red Cross, and Kiwanis Club.

George Karaphillis - Co-owner / Manager, Finance & Training

University professor with more than thirteen years computer industry experience, three years with Atomic Energy of Canada and ten years as co-owner/operator of Alliance Computer Systems. He has been teaching courses on microcomputer applications, management information systems, mathematics, finance, and investments at University College of Cape Breton since 1985. He has guided the implementation of many information systems at many businesses and organizations.

Sheila Hill - Sales Administrator

Served in administrative positions with various organizations for more than twenty years, and has been with Alliance Computer Systems since 1988. Responsible for directing customer calls, dispatching technicians, invoicing, and customer service.

Scott MacLean - Computer Technician, Network Specialist

Eight years computer industry experience, seven with Alliance Computer Systems. Installed and maintained more than thirty Lantastic, Novell Netware, Windows, and Windows NT local area networks. Recent installations include a LAN in a large paper mill plant (Netware 4 network with access to minicomputer via a router), an accounting firm (Windows NT Server and Windows workstations), a large mining company (Engineering Dept Novell network), several computer labs in high schools (Novell network with Windows workstations) and a community college (large Netware classroom network).

Doug Farrell - Computer technician, MS Windows specialist

Six years experience in the computer industry. Has installed many Windows-based and OS/2 based computer systems in office, home, and education environments. Has developed strong skills in configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Windows 95 systems, and Windows 95 networking. Has installed and customized workstations on several networks, including Windows 95 workstations on Alliance's internal Novell Netware network.

Cecil MacNeil - Computer Technician

Has cabled several network sites and installed workstations on several networks. Experienced in cabling and installing network computers, installing and tuning Windows and Windows 95 hardware.

John Shaw

Professional teacher with over twenty years computer industry experience. Has taught mathematics, computer programming, and microcomputer applications at Sydney Academy for many years. He has operated the Sydney Academy Computer Information System for seven years, where he used, maintained, and optimized Novell Netware extensively. He has delivered many in-service sessions on microcomputers and networking to teachers and he has taught at University College of Cape Breton, the N.S. Community College, and at Alliance Computer Systems. He has participated in several mathematics and technology committees on a School Board and provincial level.
